Ode to My Black Hat (And A Furry Friend)

This post goes out to my trusty black hat because:

• It goes with everything.
• I can put it on without even looking in the mirror.
• It fits just right on my head and doesn't blow off when the wind is being nasty.
• It makes me look like a member of American Horror Story's Coven.
• It cost only $14.95 when its original price was $39.95.

While I'll soon have to return this beauty into my closet when it becomes late spring and summer, I will always have it on the back of my mind even while I wear my newest straw fedoras and sun hats.

I also wanted to introduce my latest friend, Pooky aka Roxy. This furball is my brother and sister-in-law's cocker-spaniel-cross that they adopted while living in China; she was originally named Roxy but was renamed after it became clear that she resembled the beloved teddy bear of the cartoon fat cat, Garfield (look at those adorable paws!).
