Sunday Vibes

Once again, another weekend has zoomed by although it feels like it only just began a few hours ago. Luckily, for this past month, I've been able to enjoy both Mondays and Tuesdays off from work and school; as a result, tomorrow I'll be able to enjoy a relaxing visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, as well as a delicious brunch, with a good friend. Ever since I returned from a month-long trip to Asia, I've gained a new found appreciation for the beauty of my home city and province. I'm always struck by the beauty of our green forests, the morning mists, the changing leaves, and the fantastic mountains. In fact, I've made it a big check mark on my to-do list to visit more parts of British Columbia and Vancouver in order to fully experience the natural wonders that surround us.

In other news, I finally got my patent Zara booties! I've been wearing these everywhere since I received them on Monday-- in fact, they saved me when I was forced to commute through a torrential downpour on Thursday (apparently, we were hit with the tail end of a Hawaiian storm or something like that). Several roads actually flooded and we were forced to run to the next bus stop while some foolhardy vehicles remained stuck in the middle of the water. Also, I decided to break out this midi skirt that my aunt bought me in Singapore; I'm always happy when I can wear something 'summery' in the colder months. It makes me feel like I'm really getting my money's worth!

Wow, I almost forgot to mention that I finally have booked my wedding venue! I actually received word that we were holding a spot at the Hart House Restaurant last week; however, it wasn't until yesterday that we had officially signed the booking agreement papers and paid the first installment. The wedding will be held facing the picturesque Deer Lake and the reception will be set in a giant tent during the evening. I'm already incredibly excited as I've seen pictures of previous weddings and know that it will be a beautiful venue! As well, we were given two free tickets to the Creme de la Creme wedding show at the Four Seasons hotel downtown next Sunday. How I could say no to free food, goodie bags, fashion shows, and more?

What did you get up to this weekend? Also, do you have any fun goals that you plan to accomplish in the near future?

  2. I tell ya, ever since I ventured to the USA a few years back now I've had such an appreciation for nature and the green stuff. I'm completely enamoured with Canada and America right now, all those green mountains with snow capped tips and the space, holy cow so much space! Everything is so big over there and I know when you compare land mass to Australia we're all about the same size, everything over here feels so much more compact and plainish. Granted like only 30% of land is actually liveable, still, there's something magical about the vastness over on your side. And Canada, I bet would feel three times the size. I swear, if I ever get there I'll be in the most mesmerised daze.

  9. Oohhh my gosh this look is probably one of my most favorite looks of yours yet! You have the major approval of a usual pattern-clasher! (; That skirt is literally the most beautiful thing ever. They don't happen to have an online store, do they? Also, definitely worth the wait on those Zara boots--they're lovely and look so great on you! xx I'm in love with this look.

  10. Gorgeous look! The skirt is amazing, as well as the Zara boots. My husband and I would love to visit Canada some day. Our country, Spain, has also amazing green forests, specially in the North areas.

  11. I was at an amazing event here recently. The event was outdoors along the water and against a beautiful sunset. As the party moved indoors, I was struck by the decor.

  21. Hi Debbie! Nice outfit, I really like that skirt (yay singapore) sadly I always couldn't fit into any skirt from that shop. I always couldn't find my size. It's cute though. Anyway, I like your lip color, it's pretty! Your hair looks good, doesn't look like it has been through a lot of heat!

  22. Hi Debbie!!!! It must be nice to have a couple of extra days off during the week (awfully jelous here lol just kidding!), I'm sorry to read the weather was not very nice lately and that you guys had some roads floated! that is never good! thankfully your awesome new booties did not get ruined with all that water and craziness!!! I have to say I love this look :) it is very bohemian and cool, I also love wearing summer pieces in colder weather! it allows you to be creative and make your money worth as you said!

I'm so excited for you and your future hubby on booking your wedding venue! I'm sure it is going to be amazing! I can't wait to see more about the wedding :) :) :) I hope you are having a blast planning it and that your fiance is helping you out with what is needed!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment about my new look! It was kind of hard to make a decision for a change but I think change is always a good thing! and yeah you need to let you hair as it is until the wedding! then after that you can go crazy haha I had the same issue a year ago before my wedding! I wanted bangs so badly and could not get them lol finally I did :) I hope you are having a lovely week!

  23. Aww congratulations on finding a wedding venue and so quick. Seems like nothing can go wrong from now.
And I bet the fashion show gonna be so exciting and of course wonderful with all the bridal dresses and accessories.
Checked out the event - Haute Couture fashion show sounds like a lot of fun! Can't wait to hear your experience girl.
Getting married must be awesome but I guess a tiny bit stressful too but I'm sure you'll handle it right!

Must be also a wonderful feeling to enjoy a longer weekend and not to wake up earlier on Mondays but obviously you're a earlybird anyway haha but at least having some time for other stuffs like working out and all that.
And I love China too its so beautiful esp. the green side of it.

However that look is so cool and stylish. Love the mix of summer and autumn. The sweater so cozy!
I see you are also sticking to the hat trend, You know I'm obsessed with hats. They really look good on you too. ( I need to get a grey one too and a camel and red haha)
And finally you got your boots. Love the shimmery material of it. I've recently bought some "rain boots" too from Zara and I can tell they are so cool for this season.

Hope you enjoy your day so far.
