Summertime is officially here in Vancouver (although I'm sure that there are probably a few more rainy days ahead of us still)! Over the last few days of skin-soakingly lovely sunshine, I've had the opportunity to bring out all of my summer clothes and to get my tan on. I had a new found fondness for bright maxi skirts and corals, especially in this lovely red-orange color. Also, I have an obsession with hats: the larger and more flamboyant, the better! As I would not drop this much money on any one outfit unless I making some decent bucks, I instead find it relatively easy to find affordable alternatives to these brands in local malls. As a student, I try not to get stuck on brands and instead look for pieces that make me and my wallet look good. As one of my awesome fashion-savvy guy acquaintances told me a week ago, if you buy super expensive brands "of course, you're going to be fashionable"; however, the real challenge is being able to pick out affordable and interesting pieces on a limited budget. So until I can wallow in designer brands when I'm older and working in a legit job, I will content myself with my awesome shopping finds from H&M, Zara, Forever21, The Bay, and other similar stores.

Hope you enjoy the summer weather while it lasts and get some good (but smart) shopping in for the best season of the year!
